ABOUT UNITED RIGGING
United Rigging has been a trusted leader in rigging, crane, and heavy equipment services for over 40 years, proudly serving the Washington, DC, and Maryland region. Under new management, we are modernizing our operations and building the foundation for the next phase of growth and success. We are seeking a dynamic Office Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day business operations and support the president during a period of transition and restructuring.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Office Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring smooth business operations across multiple functions, including office administration, vendor relations, HR, payroll, IT, insurance management, union relations, and compliance oversight. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a well-rounded, organized professional with strong problem-solving, multitasking, and leadership abilities. The Office Operations Manager will work closely with United Rigging's trusted third-party accounting team, as well as the outsourced payroll provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee and streamline office operations, ensuring efficiency across administrative processes.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
• Administer payroll and HR functions, including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and policy compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for union-related matters, including compliance with union contracts, coordination of dues, and maintaining positive relationships with local unions.
• Ensure regulatory and operational compliance, including workplace safety, HR policies, and insurance requirements.
• Coordinate with IT service providers to maintain and support technology systems, ensuring data security and operational continuity.
• Handle insurance programs, including renewals, claims, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the leadership with financial and operational reporting to ensure transparency and alignment during restructuring efforts.
• Collaborate with external consultants and service providers to implement modernization initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 5–7 years of proven leadership and management experience in operations, HR, payroll, vendor management, or related fields.
• Experience working with local unions and understanding union contracts, dues, and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory oversight, particularly in workplace safety and HR policies.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal teams and external partners.
• Familiarity with construction, rigging, or related industries is a plus, but not required.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
